Meet the Breeder
Meet the Breeder
Hi, I’m Ashley, the breeder behind Adored Yorkies. My husband and I share our home and our lives with these dogs, and they are woven into our everyday routine. I am the person behind the pedigrees, health testing, puppy raising, placements, breeding plans, and the endless amount of thought that goes into each future generation.
I fell in love with the kind of Yorkie that does more than simply look beautiful. I love the dog that follows you from room to room, curls into your lap, watches your face, learns your routines, and seems happiest simply because he or she is with you. That connection is a huge part of what I want to preserve in Adored Yorkies.
I am also very selective about placement. Being able to purchase a puppy does not automatically mean that a particular puppy is the right fit for a particular home. Matching temperament, lifestyle, expectations, and personality matters. I want every family to feel that their puppy was meant for them, and I want every puppy to land in a home where he or she will be safe, understood, spoiled, and adored for life.
I know what it feels like to see a dog and immediately want that dog in your life. I also know that the real magic begins after the photographs, when you discover the personality, the routines, the funny little habits, and the way a Yorkie can become attached to you in a way that feels almost human. That is the experience I want families to have with an Adored Yorkies puppy.
You are choosing more than a puppy
Choosing a breeder is not only choosing a puppy. You are choosing the dogs behind that puppy, the decisions that created the litter, the environment where the puppy spent the first weeks of life, and the breeder you may still be calling long after pickup day. I want families to be able to see the thought behind every part of our program.
Our puppies are raised in our home and known as individuals. Our breeding dogs are our companions first, so we know their personalities in everyday life rather than only on paper. We use Embark DNA testing throughout our breeding program and OFA screening as age appropriate. We pay attention to temperament, structure, pedigree, size, coat, intelligence, and the way each dog connects with people. We introduce puppies to normal household life, handling, grooming, developmental exercises, and age appropriate new experiences before they ever leave us.
We also believe the relationship should not end when a puppy goes home. Families leave with veterinary records, feeding guidance, a one year health guarantee, 30 days of pet insurance coverage, familiar items for the transition, and ongoing breeder support. My goal is for someone looking through our website to feel that they know how their puppy was raised, why the litter was planned, and who they can call when they have a question.
Raised in our home
Our puppies are born and raised in our home and stay close to us from the beginning. They are watched closely, handled gently, and surrounded by the sights, sounds, smells, and routines of everyday life. We spend an enormous amount of time simply observing them, because personality begins showing itself long before a puppy is ready to leave. Even very young puppies reveal differences in confidence, curiosity, persistence, affection, independence, and the way they respond to people.
We use age appropriate developmental work, including early neurological stimulation and early scent introduction, along with daily gentle handling. As puppies mature, their world expands gradually. They experience normal household sounds, different surfaces, toys, grooming, brushing, nail handling, electric clippers, baths, car rides when appropriate, supervised interaction with our adult dogs, outdoor time when safe, cuddling, play, and early potty pad habits.
We want puppies to learn that new experiences are a normal part of life. We also want grooming and handling to be familiar because a Yorkie will need coat care, nail care, ear care, dental care, and regular veterinary handling throughout life. A few calm positive introductions now can make those routines much easier later.
We do not pretend that a young puppy leaves us fully trained. Puppyhood continues long after go home day. Our job is to provide the strongest beginning we can, learn who each puppy is, introduce good habits, and give the new family practical guidance for continuing that work. The goal is a confident puppy with a familiar foundation, not an unrealistic promise of perfection.
How We Evaluate Our Puppies
As the puppies grow, we look far beyond color and photographs. We pay attention to who seeks people out first, who melts into your arms, who wants to investigate every new thing, who pauses and thinks before acting, who lives for toys, who settles easily, who has more energy, and who would happily spend the entire day attached to a person. Those little details are what turn a puppy from a photograph into an individual. They become part of each puppy profile and help us guide families toward the puppy whose natural temperament is most likely to feel right in their home.
Matching the Puppy to the Family
Matching the right puppy to the right home is one of the most important responsibilities I have as a breeder. I want to know what a family is hoping for, how active the household is, whether there are other pets, what kind of personality they are drawn to, and what everyday life will look like for the puppy. Price and appearance may start the conversation, but temperament and fit are what create the happiest placements.
That is also why I am selective about homes. My goal is not to move a puppy as quickly as possible. I would rather wait for the family that feels right for that particular puppy. When the match is right, it should feel less like choosing from a group of puppies and more like finding the little dog who was supposed to come home with you.
Puppy ApplicationWhat You Are Really Choosing
A puppy is the visible result of years of choices. When a family chooses an Adored Yorkies puppy, I want them to understand that they are also choosing the parents, the pedigree, the health information we considered, the temperament we observed, the environment the puppy was raised in, and the standards we used when deciding whether a dog belonged in our program at all.
That is why I would rather explain too much than too little. I want families to understand what we value and why. The right buyer should be able to look through our website and feel not only excited about the puppies, but confident about the thought and care behind them.

Tell us about your home
At Adored Yorkies, success is not measured on pickup day. It is measured years later, when a family tells us their Yorkie is still the little shadow following them through the house, the dog everyone wants to hold, the tiny personality that somehow became an enormous part of the family. The photograph may be what started the conversation, but that lifelong bond is what we are breeding for.
If you are looking for a Yorkie chosen only by color, size, or the first available puppy, we may not be the right breeder for you. If you are looking for a puppy raised as an individual, from dogs we know and love deeply, with thoughtful attention to health, temperament, structure, pedigree, and family fit, we would be honored to learn more about you. Our hope is not simply that you choose one of our puppies. It is that years from now, you cannot imagine your family without that dog.
