Frequently Asked Questions
Answers in Ashley's own words about Adored Yorkies' Yorkshire Terrier puppies in Kennesaw, Georgia — health testing, guarantees, pricing, feeding, tails, placement and stud service. Anything else, call (678) 646-1602.
Where is Adored Yorkies located?
Adored Yorkies is a small home-based Yorkshire Terrier program in Kennesaw, Georgia. Local pickup can be arranged in the Kennesaw, Georgia area. For families who live farther away, flight nanny or other hand delivery options may be available by arrangement.
Are your Yorkshire Terriers health tested?
Every dog in our breeding program is DNA tested through Embark. We also use health screening through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals, commonly called OFA. Eye and patella evaluations are important parts of the screening we use with our Yorkshire Terriers. Theo and Ebbie have completed Embark testing along with OFA eye and patella evaluations and have CHIC numbers.
Do your puppies come with a health guarantee?
Every Adored Yorkies puppy is placed with a written one year health guarantee. The puppy contract explains the covered congenital and hereditary conditions, the veterinary examination window, documentation requirements, exclusions, and available remedies.
Do you dock tails or remove dewclaws?
Puppies born at Adored Yorkies keep their natural tails. We do not routinely remove healthy dewclaws from our newborn puppies. When there is no health or welfare benefit to an elective procedure, we prefer to leave our puppies naturally as they were born.
How much does an Adored Yorkies puppy cost?
Each puppy is priced individually and the current price is displayed directly beneath that puppy's profile. We prefer individual pricing because every puppy is evaluated as an individual rather than placed into a generic category.
What does a puppy go home with?
Our puppies go home with age appropriate vaccinations, routine deworming, a veterinary wellness examination, a permanent microchip, veterinary paperwork, a supply of the puppy's current food, a written one year health guarantee, 30 days of pet insurance coverage, ongoing breeder support, and a generous Adored Yorkies goodie bag. The goodie bag includes some of the puppy's favorite bones and chews, toys, a cozy little bed, and a blanket carrying the scent of Mom and littermates.
Do you sell puppies with breeding rights?
Our puppies are sold to pet homes only. We do not sell our puppies with breeding rights. Any registration that accompanies a particular puppy will be clearly stated on that puppy's profile and in the purchase paperwork.
How big will my Yorkie be as an adult?
We love refined smaller Yorkies, but we never want size to become more important than the dog. Adult size is influenced by many factors, including parents, pedigree, genetics, and individual growth. We can make thoughtful estimates as a puppy develops, but no responsible breeder can guarantee an exact adult weight.
How are your puppies raised?
Our puppies are born and raised in our home and stay close to us from the beginning. We use age appropriate developmental work, including early neurological stimulation and early scent introduction, along with daily gentle handling. They experience normal household sounds, different surfaces, toys, grooming, brushing, nail handling, baths, car rides when appropriate, and supervised interaction with our adult dogs.
What do you feed your Yorkies?
Our puppies are raised primarily on Royal Canin Puppy food. Before they leave us, they also begin experimenting with small amounts of raw food so that raw is already a familiar taste and texture. We do not require a new family to switch a puppy to raw food.
How do you choose which family gets which puppy?
Matching the right puppy to the right home is one of the most important responsibilities I have as a breeder. I want to know what a family is hoping for, how active the household is, whether there are other pets, what kind of personality they are drawn to, and what everyday life will look like for the puppy. Price and appearance may start the conversation, but temperament and fit are what create the happiest placements.
Do you offer stud service?
Theo is available for stud service to approved breeding programs at a fee of $1,500. He is a five pound chocolate and tan Yorkshire Terrier with completed Embark testing, OFA eye and patella evaluations, and a deeply affectionate temperament. Breeding inquiries should include information about the female, pedigree, health testing, size, color, and breeding goals.
Why do you use European Yorkshire Terrier lines?
Several of our dogs come from accomplished European pedigrees, and Tati and Enzo were imported from overseas. Seeking dogs beyond the United States gives us access to families of Yorkies that have been developed for generations around traits we especially value, including refined head type, expressive eyes, compact balance, rich pigment, beautiful coat, and strong pedigree depth.
How do I apply for a puppy?
Start with the puppy application on this site or call Ashley at (678) 646-1602. Being able to purchase a puppy does not automatically mean that a particular puppy is the right fit for a particular home. Matching temperament, lifestyle, expectations, and personality matters.

Tell us about your home
At Adored Yorkies, success is not measured on pickup day. It is measured years later, when a family tells us their Yorkie is still the little shadow following them through the house, the dog everyone wants to hold, the tiny personality that somehow became an enormous part of the family. The photograph may be what started the conversation, but that lifelong bond is what we are breeding for.
If you are looking for a Yorkie chosen only by color, size, or the first available puppy, we may not be the right breeder for you. If you are looking for a puppy raised as an individual, from dogs we know and love deeply, with thoughtful attention to health, temperament, structure, pedigree, and family fit, we would be honored to learn more about you. Our hope is not simply that you choose one of our puppies. It is that years from now, you cannot imagine your family without that dog.
